4. Overflow and Timeout Exceptions: 64-bit

Previous comparisons between JANUS 64-bit and $C^3$'s three algorithms only concern measured execution times, which is in fact not complete. In this section, we compare the numbers of exceptions: overflow exceptions, which occur with numbers too large for computation, and timeout exceptions, when execution time of a test is longer than two minutes, which is arbitrarily considered not acceptable.
